Gillian Sanbrook is an ecological beef producer from Holbrook Australia. She owns and manages Bibbaringa, a 1000-hectare property at Bowna, east of Albury, New South Wales. Gillian formerly worked as a rural journalist in Western Australia and South Africa. She spent 21 years at Pooginook Merino, working in the family business to develop a vibrant Merino and wool marketing operation, and selling as many as 2000 merino rams. She then initiated an educational, wool marketing, and processing company with her clients. At Bibbaringa she has transformed an overstocked, degraded property to a vibrant, functioning ecosystem and a business that is profitable both economically and environmentally. Gillian has also combined her passions for regenerative agriculture and art to initiate Earth Canvas, a project involving leading Australian landscape artists and regenerative farmers.
Creative Marketing for Expanding Regenerative Agriculture Sales
November 16 – 12:00-2:00 PM MT
The current period of extreme change has revealed a need for creative marketing of agricultural products. This panel will introduce and discuss innovative marketing ideas, including developing coalitions of ranchers and farmers to lead new efforts in processing and marketing meat; incentivizing consumers to support regenerative ranching by marketing the ecosystems services they restore and conserve (e.g. wildlife and carbon sequestration); developing online farmers markets; and marketing grass-fed beef.
