New Mexico Coalition to Enhance Working Lands Annual Summit - Highlighting Partnerships for Climate Smart Commodities
This year’s focus is on agricultural supply chains – from soil health to the processes that bring food and fiber into our communities – and the collaborations that support their strength. Our questions include: What makes these programs useful? How can we apply lessons learned through these programs when we’re thinking about future program design? What is still missing that would help meet the needs of producers and other land managers?

Join us for Unpacking the Carbon Credit Conundrum, a webinar series co-hosted by the Soil Carbon Solutions Center and Quivira Coalition, designed for ranchers, farmers and technical service providers. In conversation with producers, scientists and carbon market experts, we’ll learn the basics of agricultural carbon markets, specific case studies, how to assess different carbon projects and ask the right questions, and emerging opportunities for producers in carbon and ecosystem service markets. And we’ll learn from you about your hopes, challenges and questions regarding carbon credits.

Apprentice motivation can falters a few months in. We’ll discuss ways to co-create apprentice goals that take advantage of the built-in learning at your operation, and ways to keep that momentum going through the season, including identifying apprentice solo study, local resource people to learn from, and visiting other operations. Skill sheets are great prompts for this so we’ll discuss ways to make them truly effective and useful to you and your apprentice.

Colorado Coalition to Enhance Working Lands Annual Summit -
Day One, we will hear from organizations offering opportunities to support local food systems and land stewards in the San Luis Valley. Participants will be able to ask questions about these programs, learn how they can plug in, and brainstorm with each other about where future projects need to focus to meet ongoing needs. Day Two will be spent visiting a farm in the San Luis Valley. We will continue sharing, building, and strengthening our networks, practices, and communication through our Summit activities.

Are you a past, present, or aspiring ranching mentor interested in teaching the next generation? Consider joining us on June 18 in Harlowton, MT for a collective learning experience including a morning with speakers and a ranch visit in the afternoon.

Join us for a summer field day in beautiful Fountain, CO on June 28th, 2024! Co-hosted by Quivira Coalition, National Young Farmers Coalition, and Colorado State University Extension, this event will get your boots dirty touring three neighboring ranches demonstrating the successes and challenges of regenerative grazing. We'll also share practical tools that ranchers and their employees can use to create resilient professional relationships. While this field day is designed for those active in or pursuing a career in agriculture, we also welcome anyone interested in joining us. Beginning farmers and ranchers are highly encouraged to attend!

This year’s conference, Innovating for a Resilient Future, will interrogate and explore data, technology, information collection and sharing, ways of learning and knowing, and the myriad approaches to fulfilling our ecological roles.
