Vermicomposting in Taos

September 24, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Come learn about vermicomposting and the importance of managing household waste with the Quivira Coalition, Amigos Bravos, and Alianza Agri-Cultura!

Worm composting, or vermicomposting, uses the red wiggler worm to process feedstocks into compost and can be scaled from food scraps in an apartment to a larger, multi-family system. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of composting, uses for compost, and how to set up and maintain a worm composting system. There is no cost to attend this workshop and you will go home with supplies to begin your own compost, including straw bales, a garden fork, a bucket for food scraps, and Quivira’s Dryland Composting Workbook to guide you through the process.

Though this is a free event, we ask that you register so that we can bring adequate composting supplies and lunch!

Contact CJ Ames, cj.ames@quiviracoalition.org, with any questions.
