Join us for a morning of landscape assessment, soil conservation, and building at Ranney Ranch! Participants will build erosion control structures—including one rock dams, rock rundowns, and media lunas—through hands-on instruction from NRCS and Quivira staff and learn how to read the landscape to better understand surface water flow and the erosion process. This workshop is perfect for ranchers, land managers, beginning agrarians/students, and anyone else looking to improve their skills and knowledge on erosion control.
Tools and handouts will be provided during the workshop. Attendees are welcome to camp Tuesday night at the ranch and will be responsible for water, dinner, and camping gear. You can also arrange lodging at Corona Motel. Lunch will be provided on Wednesday after the workshop ends.
