New Mexico Coalition to Enhance Working Lands Annual Summit

This will be year seven of the Summit! We will be co-hosting with Soil to Supper, a Partnership for Climate Smart Commodities project. This year’s focus is on agricultural supply chains – from soil health to the processes that bring food and fiber into our communities – and the collaborations that support their strength. Our questions include: What makes these programs useful? How can we apply lessons learned through these programs when we’re thinking about future program design? What is still missing that would help meet the needs of producers and other land managers?
We’re excited to put more focus on the ways producers are leading or informing collaborative conservation work.
Historically, this Summit has hosted a large variety of practitioners with a focus on agricultural support and conservation organizations, agencies, and groups, as well as farmers and ranchers themselves. Our goal is to improve the ways we work together by listening and learning from each other, building strong relationships, and creating increased opportunities for collaboration. We consider producer participation to be one of the most important aspects of the summit, and this year, we’re able to offer travel support for 50 producers of any type, and additionally can offer a small stipend for up to 25 livestock producers to attend. This event is free to attend, with lunch and light refreshments included. Please register so that we have an accurate number to plan meals for!
