Colorado Coalition to Enhance Working Lands Annual Summit

Join us as we explore production, policy, and people intersecting to enhance working lands.

Rio Grande Farm Park Education Center
Alamosa, CO
March 21 activities will be at the Education Center from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
March 22 activities will be at a nearby San Luis Valley farm from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
For 2024, the Summit is expanding to two days. On Day One, we will hear from organizations offering opportunities to support local food systems and land stewards in the San Luis Valley. Participants will be able to ask questions about these programs, learn how they can plug in, and brainstorm with each other about where future projects need to focus to meet ongoing needs. Day Two will be spent visiting a farm in the San Luis Valley. We will continue sharing, building, and strengthening our networks, practices, and communication through our Summit activities.
Coffee and lunch provided on both days. Registration is free. Please register at the link below so we can assure an accurate head count for meals!
SESSIONS
Maclaine Sorden and colleagues from the Colorado Department of Agriculture and its Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) will share about opportunities for producers to access support in building soil health in their operations.
Rio Grande Farm Park staff will show us around their facilities and share about the way their community relationships support the Farm Park’s success.
Jocelyn Catterson will share some of the programs the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust is working on to support land stewards in the San Luis Valley.
San Luis Valley Local Foods will share about their current projects to support a strong local food system.
