June grew up raising dairy cattle and grass-fed beef on a family farm in rural Massachusetts. After graduating from Oberlin College with a degree in geosciences last spring, she spent the summer restoring burned forests and grasslands of the Malheur National Forest in eastern Oregon. As a farmer and a scientist, she is interested in regenerative agriculture as a climate solution that uplifts rural communities and honors the cultural value and restorative potential of ranching. At Quivira, she’s excited to be analyzing the results of CRI’s organic amendment trials on Texas ranches and compiling reports for producers. She likes storm chasing, river swims, folk music, and taking her bike places it’s probably not supposed to go.
