Erosion Control Watch Party
May 12 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm MDT
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until May 26, 2021
Please join us to learn all about erosion control structures!
Please join us for a free watch party series on erosion control: why we do it, where we do it, and how we do it! For our May 12 watch party, we’ll be watching short films produced in-house with filmographer Minesh Bacrania and featuring Aaron Kauffman from Southwest Urban Hydrology. Aaron will join us live to build on the information in the films. He’ll cover why and where we build erosion control structures, and how we build one rock dams, media lunas, and rock rundowns. These structures not only help prevent soil loss, but also improve soil moisture, which increases plant growth, and in turn can help regenerate soil fertility and production.
Then for two weeks we’ll send out activities that help you consider erosion where you live and practice building erosion control structures. We’ll come back together on May 26 with Aaron who will answer all your questions and concerns about erosion and the activities.
By the end of these watch party events, our goal is for you to feel more comfortable assessing your land for erosion issues, making economical decisions on erosion control structures, and building erosion control structures.
This event is for anyone interested in erosion – from beginners to experts. It will happen on zoom – registration below.
