SUMMARY:Thinking Like Water Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:The “Thinking Like Water” docuseries follows restoration pioneer Bill Zeedyk and his collaborators as they transform degraded watersheds into more resilient ecosystems – fighting against the ravages of drought and climate change. Join us for an in-person screening of the first episode of the series, followed by a panel featuring local restoration experts and filmmaker Renea Roberts. This film is for everyone interested in restoring land and water through low-tech, hands-on methods and seeking to be inspired by the tangible changes and benefits of community-based land restoration. This event is hosted by Quivira Coalition and the Chama Peak Land Alliance, with Mountain Studies Institute, Montezuma Land Conservancy, and Mancos Conservation District.\nThe film screening will take place in Cortez, Colorado at the Sunflower Theatre. Doors open at 5 p.m., film starts at 5:45 p.m., and the panel and discussion will follow the film.\nCopies of the book, “Let the Water Do the Work: Induced Meandering, an Evolving Method for Restoring Incised Channels,” by Bill Zeedyk and Van Clothier will be available for purchase at the event.\n \nThank you so much for your interest in this event! Registration is now full and closed. Folks are welcome to come and see if there’s space available.\n
