Blain has farmed for 45 years, the last 22 regeneratively. He and his wife, Naomi, raised three children and are now enjoying four grandchildren. They are now semi-retired, and their oldest son and his wife and three boys are transitioning into taking over the farm. Blain has monitored soil carbon sequestration since 2011, working with the Soil Carbon Coalition. He has been a holistic educator for ten years and is currently working with Understanding Ag, delivering a regenerative program for General Mills for 40 oat growers in eastern Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
